False Teeth?

Is it best to get false teeth put in right after all your extractions?

and %26quot;honestly please%26quot;, do you ever get use to wearing false

teeth and does it take long to adjust to them?

Appreciate all sincere answers, God bless.

False Teeth?
I think it is better to have them put in as soon as you have your teeth pulled. It takes as long as you make it take to get use to them. I had to wear mine all the time because I had to go to work and I wasn%26#039;t going to go without any teeth. Most of the people I work with don%26#039;t even know I wear dentures. I have had mine for 2 years and most of the time I don%26#039;t even thik about them not being mine. You will have trouble with some foods but it isn%26#039;t anything that you can%26#039;t deal with. So, good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Reply:I only have upper and lower partial plates. It has been about 3 years and I hardly notice unless I get something (food particles) under one of my plates then I just go excuse myself and go rinse them and all is well again. Yes, they did do an impression before they pulled my teeth and put them in the day of the surgery and had me to come back to readjust the fit several days later after the swelling had decreased.
Reply:You have to allow time for the gums to completely heal and the swelling to go down before fitting the dentures, otherwise they won%26#039;t fit properly after you%26#039;ve healed. It can take awhile to adjust to it, like having braces, but if they fit properly you will forget all about them. My mil has full dentures and she%26#039;s fine with them.
Reply:Don%26#039;t know, but maybe you will get use to it someday.
Reply:My dentures were ready as soon as the extraction was done and I think it helped on the swelling and healing. It took a month for the swelling to go down (I was bad off when I had the extractions done) and after that, I never had any problem with my dentures. (I had only the upper.) Four years later, I went to a dentist (in a new place) for an extraction and asked her if I should remove the upper plate for convenience and she remarked that she hadn%26#039;t known they were false--she%26#039;d genuinely thought they were my own. I loved it!
Reply:I hope you are getting your ectractions done becuase you have to and not because you want to. Ask anyone who has had dentures for a while and they would say that they hate it that is why alot of them end up getting implants to hold the dentures in place becuase the bone resorbs.

If you have no choice but to have the extractions, wearing the false teeth immediately after extractions depends on how badly you need to have teeth for esthetics. Obviously the healing will be much better post extraction. As well as the fit will change drastically once the swelling settles down. Either way you will need a relining done after the first 6 months.

Good Luck

Reply:I have wore upper full dentures and partial plate at bottom as I still had 6 teeth left on bottom.I ended up getting peridontal disease and just had my last 6 teeth removed. My new set of dentures were put in right after the extractions.I was told to leave in for at least 3 days, but there was a lot of blood in my mouth and had to remove dentures to rinse blood out ,then i put them back in.My gums got so sore I just could%26#039;nt take it anymore .Called my dentist and he said to leave them out and prescribed antibiotics.I have a weeks supply so hope I%26#039;m back to normal when the meds are finished. Also have a bruise on my chin and some swelling.Have a coated tongue and chapped lips now.It may be best for you to have dentures put in after extractions. But in my opinion if I knew I would have all these problems,I would have waited for my gums to heal before getting dentures.Good luck .
