False Teeth?

why do people pay to have false teeth, then never wear them?

My husband don%26#039;t wear his and neither does my friends husband. Will their cheeks sink eventually so they look like popeye? They could have given us the money to buy new clothes instead of leaving their teeth in the bathroom ready to bite anyone who dare get near them.

False Teeth?
Lol you made me lol.

My dad does the same and he talks like thish.
Reply:Normally they don%26#039;t wear them if they don%26#039;t fit well. Take your husband and HIS dentures back to the dentist he got them from and have the dentist check for proper fit. It there are sore spots the dentist can file the dentures down and if they are lose the dentist can reline them. Call and make the appointment for you husband NOW and then go with him to the dentist so he can tell the dentist what is wrong with the dentures. GO INTO the exam room with him when he goes to the dentist.
Reply:maybe there uncomfortable, maybe they hurt, maybe they just dont want to wear them
Reply:Who the heck would walk around this day and age without teeth? Seriously, I don%26#039;t get it. That%26#039;s is so disgusting. I mean if you live in a trailer down by the river and can%26#039;t afford them - then fine. BUT if you actually own them and don%26#039;t wear them? That%26#039;s demented. Yes his cheeks will eventually sink in and he%26#039;ll look even weirder than he does now.
Reply:How awful for you !!

Yes their cheeks will sink ; and how unnatractive for you ; have they no pride in their looks!!!

Get yourself a toyboy !!! one with his own teeth
Reply:Now keep your teeth in and stop moaning *LOL*
Reply:I don%26#039;t have false teeth, but I do have partials. I never wear the top teeth because they tend to drop down when eating sandwiches. The roof of the mouth on the top partial as with the regular false teeth is fake. It sticks to the bread and a few other things. I almost swallowed it one time. That was the last I put the tops in.

The answers about hurting and uncomfortable are correct. I know many people who don%26#039;t wear them unless they%26#039;re going out someplace. A little bit of sympathy is in order here for these people. We all look to ease the pain we feel in one way or another, and false teeth are just another %26#039;pain.%26#039;

Also, just because someone lives in a trailer or a trailer park doesn%26#039;t make them any less of a person. It doesn%26#039;t make us folks who live in houses any better either. We may be better off in some cases, but not any better.
Reply:I%26#039;ve known a couple of people like that. It was because of pain, but that%26#039;s really no excuse. All new dentures hurt at first, and dentists know it. I have worn dentures for years, and have experienced just about everything involved with them.

If a denture is causing a sore, the dentist will mark the sore spot, insert the denture, causing the mark to appear on it. This tells the dentist where the adjustment needs to be made. Oftentimes it only takes one such adjustment. Once the denture has been adjusted, the sore heals up. No more pain.

Gums shrink over time also, causing dentures to loosen, and that may be why your husband doesn%26#039;t want to wear them. I will admit that loose dentures are uncomfortable, unhealthy, and difficult to eat with. But that%26#039;s not an excuse either. Dentures can be relined, creating an entirely new fit.

People who refuse to wear dentures look terrible, cannot speak clearly, and are very limited in the foods they can eat. Not much of a lifestyle, as far as I%26#039;m concerned.

Unless your husband is willing to see a dentist, there%26#039;s not much you can do. Try your best to talk him into it. Good luck.
Reply:he probably doesnt wear them coz they uncomfortable .but yes his cheeks will collapse in and his jaw will drop a little .take your hubby and his teeth to a dentist and they will refer him to see someone to get his teeth fixed to his mouth size if there to big/small they do hurt worse than toothache
Reply:I think its a man thing wearing dentures takes a bit of perseverance if they don%26#039;t fit to well i%26#039;d recommend polygrip
Reply:my hubby wears false teeth he always wears them the persons who dont wear them are not persivering with them, you have to wear them because you face changes every year.if they pay for them and dont wear them they must have a lot of money to waste.
Reply:Maybe because they%26#039;re uncomfortable. I%26#039;m not sure.

I used to have partial dentures and I never persevered with them as they were uncomfortable but now I wear full dentures and this time knew I had to persevere. Unless I wanted to live on soup and go round looking gummy and speaking funny.

When I first got them I thought I%26#039;d never get used to them as they felt so uncomfortable but I had quite a few trips backwards and forwards to the dentist to have adjustments made %26amp; now they fit fine, feel comfortable %26amp; I%26#039;m often getting commented on what good teeth I have from people who don%26#039;t even realise they%26#039;re false.
