I have been told by the dentist that i may have to have an extraction. I know i wont like this and wonder about replacing it with a false tooth. Does n e 1 know how much this costs and what it entails
False teeth?
The going rate for an implant is about £1000 although half that price if you go to a European country.
Ask your dentist if a root canal and crown is possible.
Reply:Depends on what you mean by replacingit with a false tooth. If you are looking for a bridge then this would be much cheaper then having an implant done. Implants are still running about 2000 per tooth. Some dentists will do this a little cheaper but not by much.
Reply:Ask your dentist about getting a titanium implant!
Reply:If the tooth is in a noticable place what the dentist can do is take a mould of your mouth, and attach a false tooth to a plate, this would mean you having a denture for a few months until the extraction site heals and settles down. You can then go for a bridge if all teeth are healthy. Implants are an option, but very expensive.
You would have to check with your dentist about the cost dependant if you are NHS or private as they will alter dentist to dentist
Reply:Cost on dental work varies widely depending on where you live.
You can go to www.everyonebenefits.com/burke and click on the %26quot;locate a provider%26quot; link. Enter in the information. It will pull up a list of dentists in your area. Click the link that will say either %26quot;red fee schedule%26quot;, %26quot;teal fee schedule%26quot; or %26quot;lime fee schedule%26quot; That will give you a list of average costs in your area.
Also, take a look at the info about the dental plan. It could save you a LOT of money on the work that you need done. No waiting periods. All on-going conditions accepted. No limits on visits or services. Visit that website for more info and email or instant message me at mrs.mama21@yahoo.com if you have any questions. I just used my plan the other day and only paid $216 for a $2,600 procedure.
Reply:You can have whats known as a bridge crown. This would involve the dentist grinding down the tooth next to the extraction and a crown fitted to it with a an unfixed one attached to it to fill in the gap. This can be done 6 months after the extraction has been done. The gums and other teeth need to settle down before it can be done. The dentists cannot charge you anymore than £189 in total for any amount of treatment covered by the NHS if you%26#039;re an NHS patient. Good luck!
