I have really bad teeth and I%26#039;m only 20. Because of a poor childhood I never had braces, so even though I%26#039;ve been taking care of my teeth their crookedness has caused a lot of problems. I have many cavities and my teeth are so weak they crumble away. I%26#039;m scared that I%26#039;ll be missing a lot of teeth by the time I%26#039;m 25 :( How much would it be to have false ones put in? And would it be worth it?
How much to have false teeth wired in?
It depends on the dentist you go to. I am in the same predicament as you. I have very weak teeth, have had all my life. No amount of dental care could help that. I am 34 and am fixing to have partials put in. It is costing me 1800.00 to have ALL of my molars pulled and my partials made. I am keeping my front teeth so I do not need full plates.....yet. I am guessing about 3000.00 for full plates.
Personally, being in the same boast as you, I believe that it would be worth it to not have pain when you eat.
Reply:to have tooth in-plants it cost in this country about £1000.00 per tooth put the great thing is that it is about 99% sucsessful your gums should not reject the forgen body ( the tooth ) But it would be cheap to go to see a dentist in easton urop as much chepra than the uk and you get a holls as well !!!
Reply:False teeth are not wired in. Go to a dentist who specializes in dentures.
Reply:You would have to have two anchor posts screwed into the bone(assumed to be solid), let it heal for 6 months, and them have a full plate put in that are affixed to these two anchor teeth. Would need to be done for upper and lower.
I am assuming that before the above procedure, that you have had all your teeth removed.
The approx cost - anchor teeth - 1000 - 1500 per unit.
Upper and lower plate - 500 - 700 for each plate.
Look up Sexton Dental Clinic, Florence SC.
A ton of dentists.
Impressions in the morning, and the false teeth(upper and lower plate, now assuming you forgo the above mentioned
anchor teeth), in place in the afternoon. They have a hotel/motel right by the clinic if needed.
Reply:I have a genetic disorder (thanks dad) where I never had teeth in certain spots. I never had the baby teeth grow in and some of the baby teeth I had had no adult teeth to push them out. A fantastically embarrassing and dissappointing thing to deal with as %26quot;a perfect smile%26quot; has been something I always wanted.
I had braces from 5th - 8th grade and that basically put the teeth I did have in positions where they could then remove my braces and give me a %26quot;partial%26quot; to fill in the gaps. Hot right?
Anyways, cosmetic dentistry is EXPENSIVE. I had the same partial for about 15 years now (they normally last 5-7 years). It is old and has broken - meaning i bit into my food and the teeth have fallen off due to wear. SUPERGLUE became my best friend.
Recently I did a search in my area of %26quot;dentists that the dentists go to.%26quot; I do NOT want a shotty job as I am a PRO at spotting false teeth. Some people just have bad jobs done and I feel terrible for them and don%26#039;t want that for myself. Neither should you.
What I was told was this:
I have 3 options.
1. Replace the partial for a new one. (But I don%26#039;t want to be able to remove my teeth anymore. I want perminant teeth).
Cost - about 5k total (for four teeth on my upper mouth)
2. I can get a Maryland Bridge - this is where they grind down the teeth you do have and put a bridge with teeth on it in. This is held in by cement and caps that go over the teeth you do have to hold it in (which is why they have to grind down your real teeth). Something about this makes me nervous as I don%26#039;t want the only teeth I do have to be ruined.
Cost - about $10k for the four upper teeth
3. I can get implants.
If I want the best smile I can get - they would put me back in braces to move my real teeth to the right spots (when I had them when I was young, they basically just did it the easy way and my canines aren%26#039;t in the right spots). This would take about 1.5 years and during this time I would have gaps in my mouth as they would have to take teeth off my partial to be able to move the teeth correctly. Then they implant a metal rod into your gums that the fake teeth screw onto. It takes a little bit to heal so the real teeth don%26#039;t go on immediatly. I would have a bridge again.
Cost - about $17k for the braces and implants. (This includes the 4 on my upper mouth and 3 on my lower 0 i have a maryland bridge on my lower already but would want it removed if I went this route).
Even GOOD dental insurance is nothing compared to the amount you will pay for the perfect smile. Most companies only give you about $1500 max limit per year.
I wish you luck on what you chose.
I advise that you get it done right. Go to a reputable cosmetic dentist. If you don%26#039;t know where to look try LV Dentists (they do the smiles on that reality makeover show on tv). They are in most major cities. I spoke to them and they told me that it would be $20k and they didn%26#039;t include braces at all. Yeah - pricey right?? Maybe your problem isn%26#039;t as severe as mine - the consultation is free.
Hope this helps....as far as where to get the $$$$...if you find out let me know!
